2025 Proposed AAUW PA Bylaws Amendments
The AAUW PA Board of Directors and the PA Bylaws Committee recommend approval of the proposed bylaw amendments linked below.
Because the vote on these amendments will be held electronically in advance of the annual meeting, you are invited to comment on these proposed amendments before the bylaws committee finalizes the proposals and holds the vote on them.
The proposed amendments are intended to improve the clarity of our bylaws. Among other things, they
- reorganize information more logically,
- provide parallel section formatting (if some subsections in an Article have names, all those sections should have names),
- remove unnecessary duplications,
- clarify wording, and
- clean up small errors (e.g., typos, etc.) in our organization’s bylaws.
Note: We cannot change anything in Articles I-VII. All wording there is mandated.
Our Request to You:
Review 1) the AAUW PA Bylaws-Proposed 2025 Changes Marked-For Member Review in red, bold, italics for additions or with blue strikethrough for deletions and 2) the AAUW PA Bylaws-Proposed 2025 Changes with Rationales-For Member Review, each with one or more rationales for the change, to explain the proposals. HERE’S HOW TO COMMENT on any or all of the proposed amendments: Submit any comments between now and 5:00 pm ET on Saturday, March 15, 2025, through the online form.
All comments will be reviewed by the AAUW PA Bylaws Committee. The final proposals will be ready for consideration by Tuesday, April 1.
Voting will begin Tuesday, April 1 and end at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, April 30.
