The Basics
Are you just getting started diving into diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging topics? It can be overwhelming, but there are some easy ways to get started with self-education! AAUW National and AAUW-PA have put together resources that you can use to learn more about DEI&B (diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging).
Are you interested in becoming a DE&I chair at the branch level? This “job description” will tell you what you need to know.

Become Involved in DEI&B Issues with AAUW
Interested in becoming more involved in DEI&B? There are a few ways you can get started! If you are part of a local branch, consider getting involved with their DEI&B committee, or ask if the branch currently has a DEI&B chair position on the board. If you are already involved with DEI&B at the branch level, or you are not involved in a branch, consider joining the AAUW-PA DEI&B committee, a state-wide committee made up of branch leaders in the DEI&B area.

Join the AAUW-PA DEI&B Committee to learn about the various different ways that branches can implement a DEI&B chair or committee. Information will be shared about onboarding planning, and integrating this position into your board.

Join AAUW-PA Diversity & Inclusion Chair Ajla Laussegger to learn about the wide range of generations that exists within an organization like AAUW. How does this help our organization? How does this hurt us? How can we learn to use this to our advantage? This session will primarily focus on working within our organization when it comes to organizational structure and design, goal setting, membership communication and support.
