Two Public Policy Chairs serve on the AAUW Pennsylvania Board and manage the function with a team of Issue Specialists providing the in-depth issue expertise.   Look here for the full organization and role description.

Below are resources for everyone involved in Public Policy–at the state and branch local level.  Use the links below to access tools and resources supporting advocacy work.

Policy — the foundation for your work

AAUW Branch Public Policy Manual, is a must-read for everyone conducting public policy work in the Branch.

AAUW Board of Directors Policy Book, Policy 600 pertains to public policy work.  Pay particular attention to the sections on candidate forums and endorsing candidates.

AAUW Public Policy Priorities, adopted every two years by every-member vote, establish the federal action issues on which AAUW members across the country focus their advocacy efforts and guide the work of the national staff. States and branches should also use the Public Policy Priorities to inform their advocacy efforts on state and local issues.

The AAUW website is full of information on issues and toolkits and how-to tips.  Start here as you plan your local efforts.  You will be amazed at how much is there!
