The Harrisburg Branch

Join us for a fascinating lecture by a fabulous lecturer-Scott Weisdensaul. Finalist for the 2000 Pulitzer Prize in general nonfiction, Mr. Weidensaul has been described by our Co-President, Kathy Silks, as “One of the best speakers I have ever heard.”

Four years ago, the largest invasion of snowy owls into the eastern US in perhaps a century occurred, marking an unprecedented opportunity to learn more about these mysterious Arctic hunters.  Mr. Weidensaul will recount how Project SNOWstorm, a huge, collaborative research effort, came together in a few frantic weeks and continues to make discoveries into the life and ecology of the great white raptor.
