AAUW PA State Meeting

Please register for April 30 Member meeting, and recruit branch members too.
[Full details at – deleted], as well as in the next Keystoner. Note the free lunch/registration for a third branch member for every two paid registrations at $25 each. Also, we now have an online registration.

State Voting: In PA, all members who attend the April 30 meeting are eligible for a vote. We hope to have a cost effective, reliable way to permit every member to vote in two years (subject to approval at the April 2012 state convention.)

NCCWSL Scholarships

AAUW-PA is offering four (4) scholarships to NCCWSL this year to College Women Student Leaders. The form is on Whether or not the school is a C/U partner, women leaders are encouraged to apply. NCCWSL plus the $130 fee cap for new C/U partners this year gives you a great opportunity to talk with local colleges and universities.For more information about the conference, visit

Membership Incentives

Membership Incentives for 130 Year Anniversary of AAUW are many. All membership vice-presidents are encouraged to review the article about our 130th Anniversary which will appear in the next issue of the Keystoner. One-time incentives are being offered this year to help with recruitment of new members.

Give a Grad a Gift – Any graduate within the last two years can be given a free national membership. Information can be found on the web at

National Convention

For those attending the national convention in Washington D.C. on June 16-19, if you are reserving a hotel room, note your “special request” for two double beds in the online system. Kate Farrar, national Director of Leadership Programs, said that is sufficient to be assigned a room with two beds.A number of PA members will go, so if you need a roommate, please let a state board member know and we’ll try to make a match. National Voting: Please note that all members will vote by mail or by electronic ballot in the national elections for Board and Public Policy Program.

Pay Equity Day

Pay Equity Day is April 12, and District Coordinators have pink “=pay” buttons: If you’re going to a rally or holding a pay gap cookie sale, ask for buttons to distribute.

Federal Regulations Impact Children’s Books

Be aware of new federal regulations that impact books intended for children ages 12 and under and published before 1986.Follow the rules to re-sell, or just re-cycle the relevant books.Consider writing congress to support H.R.272 to exempt books from the lead testing requirements.
